UCDA 50th Anniversary
The University & College Designers Association was founded in 1970 as the nation’s first and only association for professionals involved in the creation of visual communications for educational institutions.
Fifty years later, UCDA inspires designers working in academia in North America and around the world by delivering relevant programming and benefits in a personal and thoughtful way. The organization provides for the professional and personal growth of its members, and advocates for the roles of designers, educators, and other creatives within their institution while working to elevate the importance of design overall.

UCDA AWARD
The UCDA Award was created in 1995. This stunning award is presented by the UCDA board of directors in recognition of those who have donated their valuable time, service and support to further UCDA’s goals. Individuals receiving this award have significantly contributed to this organization’s success.
HONORARY AND EMERITUS MEMBERS
Honorary membership may be granted at the discretion of the Board of Directors. Emeritus Membership may be conferred by the Board of Directors in recognition of an individual’s contributions to UCDA.
UCDA DESIGN COLLECTION
The UCDA Design Collection is the growing collection of design work being produced by and for educational institutions since 1971. The pieces from the collection have won in the UCDA Design Competition annually, and currently documents nearly 7,000 award winning entries ranging from printed posters and publications, to videos and websites from 1971 through today.
