Job Requirements
- Experience:
Responsibilities of the appointment are broken down as follows: 70% for teaching, 25% for research and scholarly related activity, and 5% for service. The teaching load consists of two design studios plus participation on a senior thesis committee per semester, subject to enrollment demand and or institution policy. Candidates are expected to continue and/or develop an active program of scholarly, creative practice and funded research within the discipline that aligns with the SIGD / CADC and AU strategic plans.
- Job Description:
Desired candidates should have the ability to teach a variety of graphic design studios and related courses, and demonstrate evidence of developing and maintaining funded research, scholarship or creative scholarship that has the potential to secure external funding and/or yield visibility and prestige to the program through publications, exhibitions, fellowships, etc.
The GDES program is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to the academic community’s excellence through their teaching, funded research/creative scholarship, and service. Excellent interpersonal skills are required.
- Education Required:
Candidates must hold an M.F.A. in Graphic Design or related discipline from an accredited institution at the time employment begins. Previous teaching experience in a post-secondary education environment and/or professional experience is desired. Recent M.F.A. graduates are also encouraged to apply.
