UCDA JOURNAL: DESIGN EDUCATION

The UCDA Journalon the UCDA website — has two purposes:

1. Open access, double-blind peer-reviewed, scholarly journal for design educators that will contribute to the scholarly growth and ensuring the publication of high-quality research.
(Beginning Spring 2022)

2. Member-provided posts, articles, and interviews that serve the needs of the diverse audiences within UCDA.
(Launched Spring 2021)

The journal is an opportunity for educators and members to gain recognition as well as share content with each other.

CALL FOR REVIEWERS AND CHIEF EDITOR

We are currently looking for peer-reviewers for the peer-reviewed, scholarly journal. As a peer-reviewer for the UCDA Journal, you are contributing to the scholarly growth of your peers and ensuring the publication of high-quality research. Service to your peers contributes the benefits of your invaluable expertise to the design research community. 

The UCDA Journal will be inviting submissions that heighten and expand the understanding and practice of design and design education in the past, present, or future. Learn more about the review process [link to come].

Reviewers should exhibit expertise in specific areas of design. 

Reviewers must be willing to:

  • Provide written, unbiased, constructive feedback in a timely manner on the scholarly merits and value of the work submitted through a call for abstracts
  • Indicate whether the writing is clear, concise, and relevant and rate the work’s composition, accuracy, originality, and interest 
  • Avoid personal comments or criticism
  • Maintain the confidentiality of the review process
