UCDA Student Poster Initiative

CALL FOR ENTRIES
The UCDA 2025 Student Poster Design Initiative Call for Entries is Open.

This year, the theme is Mindful Design. Students are invited to explore the trending topic of mindful design through visual communication of poster design. This student poster design contest provides an outlet for students to design and submit an original poster for print or online use.  We welcome entries as part of a class assignment or done independently by students outside of class.

Mindful: 2025 Design Education Summit Event

OPEN:
Fall/Winter 2024
Instructors may add this as a class project for Spring 2025 or use it as a side project for student design clubs. Students are encouraged to submit as self-generate independent work as well. 

THEME:
Mindful Design (it is recommended that students do research on this topic so that their work aligns with the meaning of the theme)

WHO: 
Undergraduate Students (not graduate level)

JUDGING:
Entries will be reviewed by our Student Poster Chairperson, with additional judges if required.

3 MB file size limit

Digital/Motion
1920 x 1080 (.mp4 or .gif)
10 MB file size limit

WINNING ENTRIES: 
First Place, Second Place, Third Place

RECOGNITION:

  • FREE UCDA Event Registration to Education Summit—the top 3 will receive free registrations to the UCDA Design Education Summit (May 2024). Travel and accommodations are not included. 
  • UCDA Journal Blog Recognition. Students work may be featured and promoted in a UCDA Journal blog post. 
  • UCDA Social Media. Student work will be featured on our social media channels. 
  • UCDA Certificate
  • Honorable Mention—up to 12 honorable mentions may also be awarded and displayed during the UCDA Design Education Summit. (Note: We will print and display all print-based winning and honorable mentions on 12" x 18" white heavy weight paper. If winning and honorable mentions have special paper or tactile techniques, the student winner can mail their submission to us prior to displaying. Digital submissions awarded honorable mention will be displayed on a digital display.)
