Nakia Shelton is an Assistant Professor of Strategic Communication at High Point University. She has been a graphic designer for 15 years working in the private- and public-sector. Nakia obtained a BFA in Art with a concentration in Graphic Design from Longwood University in 2005 and will obtain an MFA in Design Thinking from Radford University, conferring December 2020.
13. USING DESIGN-THINKING TO EXPLORE BURNOUT AMONG DESIGNERS IN THE WORKPLACE
In a thesis research study, Nakia Shelton used design-thinking to explore burnout among designers in the workplace. She will be discussing findings from the study and will offer insight for alleviating and preventing designer burnout.
