Regional Workshop Application Form

Overview
Regional workshops have been held on a number of different topics. They vary from year to year, remaining innovative and responsive to the members needs and wants, and are a source of on-going education and professional development. These sessions are intended to provide the opportunity for contact with other designers and meaningful exchange of design solutions on a localized and economical basis.

The workshops are usually one-day and are traditionally held throughout the year but should not compete the annual UCDA Design Conference, UCDA Design Summit, UCDA Design Educators Summit or Insight Workshops.

The regional workshops are solicited by a Regional Workshop Coordinator that reports to a Board liaison for regionals. The Regional Workshop Coordinator is responsible for soliciting proposals from potential workshop coordinators, offering suggestions, possible topics, etc.

Goals
1. Provide instruction, guidance and information to and among our members on a local or regional level.
2. Provide a forum for local networking and interaction among our members.
3. Provide additional income for UCDA to defray administrative costs and support additional programming.

Scheduling
The regional workshops must occur between the dates of January 1 and June 30 of each year. Unless otherwise determined by the Board, they should occur on a Friday or Saturday of a non-holiday weekend.

Regional Workshop Host
Want to get involved? Create a day-long program for designers in your city, state or region. UCDA's small regional workshops provide networking opportunities for members and other designers. From focused discussion groups to featured training sessions or speakers, the flexibility of the workshop allows the program to be whatever the host wants it to be. Work closely with the home office to produce a program addressing the issues relevant to your city or region. (three- to six-month commitment)
