UCDA Sustainable Actions Mission Statement
UCDA is committed to the support and well-being of its members and their constituents. As part of that commitment, we want to incorporate into our work the wise and sustainable use of resources. 'Sustainable' may refer to, but not  limited to, reducing waste, using fewer resources, choosing materials that are less toxic and that contain recycled materials, and supporting local communities in an effort to improve our relationship to the environment.

As leaders in graphic design for educational institutions, we have a responsibility to prove that good design and good environmental stewardship are compatible with each other and are beneficial to our constituents and communities. We are committed to creating environmental awareness and promoting sustainable practices in the following ways.

1. by using green methods and products when creating our own print materials and acknowledging the products that we use;

2. by establishing and maintaining sustainable practices in our offices and on our campuses;

3. by researching the most sustainable practices and products in graphic design, and by making this information available to our constituents.

We at UCDA wish to become both an example and a central resource for our constituents and clients on sustainability in graphic design. We are committed to leading our profession and in providing our fellow designers with what they need to make informed choices.
