- Originally from the suburbs of Chicago, I made Champaign-Urbana my home after my husband and I graduated from college here. I've worked for the University of Illinois since 2004, starting in University Housing and then moving over to Krannert Center for the Performing Arts in 2007. In Spring 2011, I had the opportunity to experience the faculty perspective, teaching and developing the course, an Introduction to Graphic Design.
- As a graphic designer on the Krannert Center marketing team, I support our mission through web, video, and print communications. I love being part of the arts and experiencing the energy associated with each year's season filled with performances by our resident Opera, Theatre, and Dance departments as well as national and international visiting artists. Each spring our team plans our upcoming season, developing promotional materials such as a season book, a television ad campaign, and depending on the year, a variety of pieces for our biennial three-day ELLNORA Guitar Festival.
- I'm also involved in volunteering for the local organization, CatSnap where I contribute as a "cat trapper" assisting with their Trap, Neuter, and Release program. I am a BIG cat lover. My husband and I have three cats. You can see one of our cats, Golly, in her debut appearance in one of my Krannert Center videos:

- I not only find inspiration from my cats but from my favorite organization, UCDA (: It is so refreshing to have such a perfectly-tailored professional outlet like UCDA for all of us involved in the college and university communications field. As a board member, I am super excited to have the opportunity to be even more active in the association. One of my major roles is serving as the 2012 annual conference chair so I'd love to hear your ideas--shoot me an email or come see me at the 2011 conference in Phoenix.
- Other random tidbits about me:
- I love taking photos, birdwatching (I'm dying to see an owl already), and learning new software tricks.
- On the nightstand: I'm currently reading A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius by Dave Eggers (more like re-reading the first 10 pages every couple of weeks)
- Tunes: Thought I liked everything but country until I went to Nashville for the 2010 UCDA Design Summit. Now I can truly say I like all genres of music. My most embarrassing playlist is probably the super poppy one I listen to when trying to motivate myself to run.
- DVR: OK so this may be where all my time goes. I love Iconoclast on the Sundance Channel and Olivia Benson and Elliott Stabler on Law and Order. CBS Sunday Morning is also pretty great.
- Netflix Queue: I'm watching Italian films right now as I try to learn the language. Top on my list is the movie I Am Love.
- Where is my bio photo taken? In front of the lantern collection in the Krannert Center prop shop.
