UCDA Foundation Silent Auction

The UCDA Foundation (UCDAF) exists to promote our professional development. Among the many Foundation initiatives is an annual scholarship program that gives UCDA members the opportunity to attend the annual design conference. This year the UCDAF awarded five scholarships: three to long-term members and two to new members.

Each year we ask our members, speakers, sponsors and anyone in our profession to submit items to be auctioned off at the national conference.

Proceeds from the UCDAF Silent Auction at the UCDA Design Conference will directly benefit UCDA.

You do not need to attend the annual conference to participate. Donations can be sent to the national office where they will be transported to the conference and placed on auction for you.

Objects made by our members including photographs, paintings, drawings, prints, posters, jewelry, ceramics, weavings, cards, books, etc., are especially well-received by conference attendees. Also, quirky and unusual items such as pop-up books, collectibles, and objects d'art do extremely well in the silent auction. And, donated items from Seattle will forever remind the winning bidder of the wonderful time they had while attending the UCDA Design Conference.

There are four ways you can participate:
Items will be packed and brought to the conference. We will notify you after the conference of the winning price and bidder.

1. Bring your donation(s) along with you. We will be accepting donations throughout the conference. Simply drop off donations to the conference desk when you sign-in and register for the conference.

2. Enjoy shopping in the host city and make a couple of extra purchases for the silent auction. We will accept donations at the conference desk any time or you can give them to any of the UCDA Silent Auction co-chairs.

3. If you can't join us at the conference, send your auction donations to arrive by October 3 to:

4. If you do not have any items you are able to donate this year, or will be unable to participate in the silent auction during the conference, tax-deductible cash gifts are also acceptable. They may be sent at any time to:

If you bring a poster or other large and/or bulky item, please keep in mind that some attendees will be traveling by air. We will provide tubes for posters but a suitable box or package to transport their prize home would be appreciated by the winning bidder. And, some items might not be allowed within the new and stringent carry-on regulations (liquids, cutlery, etc.). Please keep that in mind when submitting your donation.

All donations are tax deductible. UCDAF will provide each donor with a statement of the declared value and winning bid amount.
